A.P.C STYLING— Elevating the Everyday

This summer, I had the chance to style my good friend and model Calvin (@calvinngrayyy) in the spring line and timeless denim for the French ready-to-wear brand A.P.C. Drawing a lot of inspiration from the way A.P.C. exists in everyday life, I tapped my brother Travis (@hivesight.main) to capture the afternoon on film. Having him on set was essential–his eye for still shots on the street translated perfectly to capturing the collection.

The looks I picked showed Calvin in motion, understated, within the rhythm of the street. Not in outfits that demand attention, but pieces that belong exactly where they are. A.P.C. is all about craftsmanship through a clean-line aesthetic and timeless essentials. They balance accessibility with a minimalist point of view, offering functional, timeless pieces designed to stand the test of time.

Since all A.P.C’s denim has been made in the same Japanese factory since the brand's inception, I wanted to make that part of my story. The new collection introduces fewer logos and silhouettes rooted in everyday life, which lean into function while staying fashionable.

The image we landed on captures Calvin from above, walking through the West Village with the kind of purpose that's familiar to anyone in New York. Swiftly, and in uniform. The neighborhood's architecture and natural light do the rest.

In recent seasons, I feel like how we think about formalwear and denim has shifted. Button-up shirts are paired with thrashed jeans. Chic tops with faded shorts. The styles of athletes, models, and celebrities we grew up admiring have found new relevance. Pieces once thought incompatible and worn have become a language of luxury streetwear–we’re appreciating premium materials again. I’ll always argue that quality should be both durable and comfortable. And a good pair of raw denim is one of those perfect combinations.
