Artist, DJ, Tastemaker Georgie Zaven’s 2025 to Remember

LA-based Georgie Zaven (@georgiezavenn) has never been exactly what he seems. To some he’s a guy on Instagram they want to dress like, to others he’s that DJ that always gets the place jumping—as an artist, he’s a songwriter deeply committed to his emotional and creative journey.
After relocating to Los Angeles in late 2024, Georgie dropped two tracks with strong rollouts, became a staple DJ across the LA scene, toured and worked with Iann Dior, collaborated with Market studios, even modeled for KFC!
Born outside Atlanta in 2001, he’s been shifting between artist, DJ, model, stylist, content creator, and tastemaker for years in the Nashville, Atlanta and LA areas. The Georgia-native had a breakout 2025, swerving from West Coast cruise to upbeat acoustic melodies, delivering powerful vocals about finding home and escaping struggle.
On his summer single ‘HEAD SCRATCH’ he sings, “New place same problems, insomnia keeps me wide awake,” confronting the reality that new surroundings don’t always mean new beginnings. His sound centers on tone and vulnerability, with catchy production that blends R&B and indie. The music has similarities to Dominic Fike and Daniel Ceasar, his vocals anchor powerful emotions to each melody.

The road to finding his sound and early success wasn’t all easy. Shortly after he arrived in Cali, fires scorched across LA damaging and destroying thousands of homes and businesses. Georgie lost both jobs and was forced out of work for months. During that time, he ran into an unforgettable opportunity via his homie Puff—touring with Iann Dior.
“It never happens when you want it to, but it will happen when you least expect it.” Georgie said he and Iann became close friends during the tour, sharing the stage across the U.S. for over 40 shows. Georgie even has writing credits on ‘SIGNAL’ the final song on Dior’s CYCLES album, along with a few more tracks on the deluxe.
Zaven returned from the road inspired. Fueled by momentum, he was ready to enter a new phase of his own music. By October, he dropped singles ‘HEAD SCRATCH’ and ‘TAKE COVER’—both made it onto our Things In Our Headphones playlists and into my regular personal rotation.
His experience both in the studio and as a DJ has given him an attuned ear for working with engineers to shape his sound. Behind the decks, Georgie definitely expresses himself through a blend of hip-hop, house and funk. One thing he brings to every set—some classics and something you never heard in your life… the type of set that keeps your head bumping the entire time. From Blind Barber to No Vacancy, Georgie has built a reputation as a go-to DJ in the LA area.
Georgie and I met during his time in Nashville. He worked at Red Rose Hype and Rooted, two of Nashville’s original high-end street and footwear destinations. At the time he was deeply tapped into the streetwear scene—embraced by everyone and undeniably one of the flyest in the city.
Red Rose and Rooted remain shops in Nashville—and two places Georgie built friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Another creative in the area at the time, photographer Sky (@skyquajusturner), a close friend of Georgie also made the move and is now based in LA. The two are always kicking it, listening & creating music, talking clothes, and taking photos.
Just like at home, Zaven’s focus this past year has been curating the world around him. His goal is to shift his circle and get his name to new places, collaborate with cool people, and create an environment he can thrive in. Georgie is emerging as part of a new generation of songwriters and one of those artists that gets more exciting with each release.
